Maryna is an abstract painter from Ukraine, currently based in Spain.

Emigrating from Ukraine in 2016 distanced me from the immediate devastation of war, yet the ongoing aggression against my homeland has shaped my artistic voice, compelling me to explore themes of resilience, trauma, and the fragile balance between chaos and order. My work is built on contrasts - those between personal and global experiences, loneliness and connection, beauty and brutality.

I build up layers of acrylic, pastel, and charcoal - textures that echo the weight of these struggles, each marking a conversation between vulnerability and strength. I seek to capture what words cannot - the silent weight of memory, the dissonance of injustice, and the moments of hope that persist despite turmoil. I explore the scars we carry, the experiences that shape us, and the unseen forces that bind us to place, identity, and each other. At its core, my work asks: Where do we anchor ourselves when the ground shifts beneath us?

I don’t seek to provide answers. Instead, I create spaces - where textures speak, colors resonate, and silence carries meaning. Spaces where viewers might glimpse their own untold stories within mine.
