Maryna is an abstract painter from Ukraine, currently based in Spain.
My art reflects a relentless pursuit of beauty and resilience in a modern, often brutal world.
Emigration from my homeland Ukraine in 2016 allowed me to escape the war's direct impact, yet the aggression against my country profoundly influenced my outlook on individual and global tragedies. While my paintings are mostly abstract, the enduring influence of political context creates a specific angle from which I perceive life and create.
My art dives into human emotions and memories, blending vibrant colors and dynamic compositions to express what words often fail to capture. Through abstract forms and bold strokes, I explore themes of resilience, hope, and healing within a tumultuous world. My work is a lot about the contrast: personal against global, chaos against order, imaginative beauty against the roughness of reality.
Mixing acrylics, pastels, and charcoal allows me to create textured layers that mirror life's complexities. My process is often spontaneous and intuitive, letting me fully immerse myself in crafting works that are both raw and vulnerable.
Ultimately, I hope to inspire my audience to find moments of introspection and connection, discovering their own stories within the colors and textures of my creations.
